Realization

Ok, so I just realized that blogging is basically the same thing as having a facebook account. Again it is sad that I am always one step behind. Before using this in my classroom I would have to really weigh the benefits versus the learning curve for first graders. It may be a more useful tool in communicating with parents. I would have to give it some thought.

  1. I like your idea of using the blogs with parents vs your first grade students. I think it would be very challenging and time consuming to blog with first graders.

  2. I would agree with you Sharon and Keara. I am interested to see the various ways we could use this in the classroom and how it could fit into a first grade classroom. I do see it as a useful tool for posting certain questions or thoughts about things I would want the parents to think about and support each other with. Maybe one parent found a good strategy to help their child learn sight words and by posting it, another parent could try the same thing. So I could post thought provoking questions and see what they come up with!

  3. So you are saying keep the conversation (blog) going with just the parents? Hmmm... email works for me. What am I missing here??
